Butch Carter to be next Magic coach? No description found
ORLANDO, Fla. – Local 6 Sports Director David Pingalore has learned through multiple NBA sources that former Toronto Raptors head coach Butch Carter could be the Orlando Magic's next head coach.
Pingalore first reported Friday night
"Carter would be a fantastic choice for the franchise," said a source.
Reports surfaced late Sunday that Brian Shaw and Mike Malone may in fact be out of the head coaching race.
Carter was the Raptors head coach for three seasons, starting in 1997, when he took over for Darrell Walker in the middle of the season.
Pingalore also was the first to report that Lindsey Hunter would be considered for the head coaching job. He is still in the mix, according to conversations Pingalore had Sunday night.
