FBI arrests Miami man accused of planning to bomb Dolphin Mall

Vicente Solano to appear in federal court Monday

SWEETWATER, Fla. – The FBI arrested a Miami man Friday night on accusations that he planned to detonate a bomb at Dolphin Mall, the Miami Herald first reported.

Vicente Solano is expected to appear in federal court on Monday.

Authorities said Solano acted alone when planning on detonating what was a fake bomb at the mall in Sweetwater, which he obtained from undercover agents.

Authorities said he spoke with a confidential informant, who contacted the joint terrorism task force about the attack plans.

Authorities said there's evidence online that Solano made pro-Islamic State videos, but there is no indication that he was directed to attack the mall by terrorists.

A Dolphin Mall representative confirmed that the FBI is currently conducting an investigation, but would not comment on the case.
