Deputies: Man pries drive-thru window open, screams at employees over uncooked burger

Employees told to evacuate area, report says

OVIEDO, Fla. – An Oviedo man was arrested Saturday evening after he pried a Steak 'n Shake drive-thru window open and yelled at employees, the Seminole County Sheriff's Office said.

Deputies said 62-year-old Ronald Burns, who was upset over an uncooked burger, was verbally assaulting the fast-food restaurant employees from his black vehicle in the drive-thru line of the restaurant on Red Bug Lake Road.

The manager of the restaurant told deputies he tried to calm Burns down, but Burns was belligerent, according to an arrest report. The manager then shut the drive-thru window down and told his employees to stay away from it, the report said.

Burns then pried the window open to reach inside with the burger and continue the argument, scaring the employees inside, deputies said. That's when the manager told his employees to evacuate the area.

Authorities arrived at the restaurant and arrested Burns, the report said. He was booked into the Seminole County Jail and charged with occupied burglary with assault, according to the report.
