Disney's New 'Star Tours' Opens Friday Ride Features New 3-D Screen, New Experience
ORLANDO, Fla. – Disney's brand-new version of a popular old ride -- ?Star Tours? at Disney?s Hollywood Studios opens to the public Friday.
Disney spent millions of dollars on the makeover.
The ride is based on the movie ?Star Wars,? and the inside is meant to look and feel like a high-tech galaxy.
The old gray spaceship has been replaced by a new orange one. Each voyage is different in the simulator-type ride because the scenes randomly change, creating a brand new experience than before with 54 versions total. Disney has also added a new 3-D screen.
?It?s really awesome, it?s really better than before, blast you through space. A lot better than it used to be? Amazing!? one visitor said.
The ride's opening coincides with the start of the annual ?Star Wars Weekends? at Disney.
