Florida officials offer money to residents for trapping cats Miami-Dade offering $15 per animal
MIAMI – Residents in Miami-Dade County can earn money while helping solve a problem.
Animal Services officials this week announced a new initiative to help humanely manage the outdoor cat population in the county, according to CBS Miami .
The Tip the Trapper initiative will pay trappers $15 for each cat that is taken to animal services to be vaccinated, sterilized and ear-tipped.
Officials said trappers must then return the cats back to their original location.
The cats must weigh at least 3 pounds to qualify for the program, CBS Miami reported.
