AMBER Alert called off after 9-year-old boy abducted out of South Florida

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – An AMBER Alert was issued on Tuesday for a 9-year-old Florida boy who was believed to have been abducted out of South Florida.

In a release, FDLE officials announced that the child — identified as Liam Smith — was last seen near the 17700 block of Northwest 14th Avenue in Miami Gardens.

In addition, the boy may have been in the company of 45-year-old Tameeka Budwah, who was considered his abductor, investigators said.

According to the release, Smith had last been seen wearing a light blue school uniform shirt, dark blue pants, and black shoes. Smith was listed as endangered on the AMBER Alert website.

Per investigators, Smith and Budwah may have been traveling northbound in a 2024 black Honda Civic with a tag number reading “RJVL88.”

However, the AMBER Alert was canceled shortly before 8 p.m. Investigators said that Smith was found safe.

No additional information has been provided at this time.
