Witness said her hand was being held together by a piece of flesh

BOCA GRANDE, Fla. – A 9-year-old girl was hospitalized on Wednesday afternoon when she suffered a shark bite near Boca Grande, according to WINK News.

In addition, the witness said that after pulling the girl out of the water, the only thing holding her hand together was a scrap of her flesh, WINK reports.

“He went on to tell WINK News reporter Zoe Warner there were five children in the water at the time with two parents,” the report reads. “He was on his lunch break when he heard people screaming for help.”

News 6 has reached out to the Boca Grande Fire Department for more information and is awaiting a response.
