LEE COUNTY, Fla. – A 23-year-old woman Florida woman was arrested Sunday following a road rage incident where she pointed a gun at her neighbors, according to a news release.
Video from a camera mounted on Esmerelda Cruz’s vehicle shows her driving toward her neighbor before exiting the car and pointing a gun at the entire family and their dog.
In the video, you can see a man walking a dog along the side of the road while Cruz stops her vehicle and loudly revs the engine while the man crosses the street. Cruz then drives past them before stopping and exiting her vehicle.
Cruz approaches the man and points a gun at him and the dog while yelling and waving the handgun around before two more people approach and stand next to the victim.
“Don’t run in front of my (expletive) car,” Cruz can he heard screaming while telling the family to “I’ll light your life up!” and to “call the cops!”
Deputies said Cruz was arrested and faces three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Authorities later recovered the firearm from her home, according to the release.
“The grid is busier than ever. Road rage has no place in Lee County, and won’t be tolerated,” said Lee County Sheriff Carmine Marceno.
