BUSHNELL, Fla. – A Florida soldier killed in the war with Iran will be laid to rest on Monday at Florida National Cemetery.

Maj. Cody Khork, 35, died in a drone attack in Kuwait shortly after U.S. and Israeli forces began military strikes against Iran. Khork, who was posthumously promoted from captain, will be buried in Bushnell following weekend funeral services.

Family and friends gathered to remember Khork during the funeral service on Saturday, reflecting on his impact and service to the nation.

Khork, from Polk County, was a multiple-launch rocket system/fire direction specialist who had served in the Army since 2009.

A motorcade will escort Khork’s body to his final resting place at the national cemetery.
