Police said St. Charles was the driver of the day care van in which Myles Hill died. She is charged with aggravated manslaughter of a child.
Officials with the Department of Children and Families confirmed to News 6 that St. Charles was not approved as a driver on the facility's roster.
Police said St. Charles picked up Myles from his great-grandmother's home and placed him in the van and drove to the second Little Miracles location and parked.
She later told police that she assumed all the children made it inside of the day care and did not do a head count.
Myles was found by another day care employee in the van outside Little Miracles Academy at 8:28 p.m., after the boy's great-grandmother called the day care to report that he hadn't been dropped off at home.
According to the medical examiner, the "unbearable environment" caused Myles' death. His cause of death was hyperthermia.
