When you step inside Style Encore on East Colonial Drive in Orlando, you'll find thousands of pieces, ranging from Ann Taylor Loft and the Gap, to high end designers like Lily Pulitzer, Michael Kors and Louis Vuitton.
The consignment store specializes in gently used women's fashion, and everything here is two years old or less.
Monica Vasilliadis and her husband opened Style Encore about three years ago, after finding success with the Once Upon a Child franchise.
For those thinking about selling some clothing, Vasilliadis has a few tips.
"The rule of thumb is if it's cute we're going to buy it."
She suggests bringing items in clean, in a bin or tote, laid as flat as possible.
"How you would want to see it in a store is how we want to see it. The more work we have to put into it, the less chance we have of buying it."
Vasilliadis tells News 6 Style Encore's corporate offices determine how much they give sellers for each item, based on current retail value. She tells us most items here are at least 50 percent off current retail, and says while a lot of customers walk in expecting "typical thrift," most are fans by the time they leave.
"The realize the value of letting someone else take the hit financially of the buying the item new and saving 50-70 percent off something they can see in stores right now."
Style Encore also offers complimentary sessions with a professional stylist while you shop.
