New Smyrna Beach was closed to capacity at 10:30 a.m. Sunday due to huge crowds, according to Volusia County Beach Safety.
It was a popular day at the beach, and officials said that due to the beach being at capacity it had to be closed until more sports started to open up.
Volusia County Beach Safety said they flew the red flag today and they rescued about 70 people from the ocean on Sunday.
