Lovin’ it: Couple who met in line at McDonald’s celebrates 27th anniversary at same restaurant

Cindi and Mark Franceschina celebrate every year with fast food

RACINE, WI – A Wisconsin couple found love while waiting in line for a burger and fries, and they continue to celebrate over a fast-food dinner.

Cindi and Mark Franceschina met at a McDonald’s in Racine, Wisconsin, 27 years ago.

Mark Franceschina said he noticed his now wife, Cindi, standing in line next to him on Feb. 9, 1996. When they both got their orders, Franceschina took the chance and asked Cindi for her number.

They soon began dating and got married three years later in 1999.

The couple says since their first meeting, they have a standing date every Feb. 9 at noon, at the same restaurant.

On their 27th anniversary of their meeting (not their wedding), McDonald’s treated them to a special lunch. The corporation had 27 roses delivered to the restaurant. They also decorated a table for them, complete with sweet treats and a free meal.
