A police officer got a big surprise when a kangaroo suddenly jumped out in front of his cruiser.
But this wasn’t in Australia. It was in Texas!
The Lufkin Police Department on May 22 posted dashcam video of the kangaroo hopping across a street in front of the police cruiser in the neighborhood.
The video included a 911 call that someone in the area made about spotting the kangaroo.
“Does it look like it might belong there?” the dispatcher asks.
“... My wife’s like, ‘Why is that dog standing there in the middle of the road?’ We’re on our way to go eat breakfast and I look and I’m like, ‘That’s a freakin’ kangaroo!’” the 911 caller says.
The kangaroo belonged to a nearby family who actually has 16 kangaroos as pets.
This particular one got our through an unlocked gate but has since been reunited with its owners.
