Woman shot by husband who then killed himself in Volusia, sheriff’s office says

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. – A woman hospitalized early Saturday in Volusia County had been shot by her husband before he turned the gun on himself, according to the sheriff’s office.

Deputies responded around 12:17 a.m. to a shooting reported out of Carol Ann Drive, the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office said on social media.

The woman was taken to the hospital for treatment while her husband had been found dead in a home, the post states.

The woman was in stable condition as of Saturday afternoon, according to an update. The investigation indicated the husband shot her following an argument, the sheriff’s office said, adding there was no reported history of domestic violence incidents involving the couple.
