Volusia County deputies seek help in road rage investigation involving golf cart driver

DEBARY, Fla. – The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office is seeking help from the public regarding a road rage incident involving a golf cart in DeBary.

The incident occurred on March 5 at the intersection of Sackett Road and Lake Drive.

According to deputies, the altercation began when the driver of a golf cart became upset with the actions of an SUV. The golf cart operator approached the SUV, opened the door and began striking the driver.

In an attempt to call 911, the SUV driver took out her phone, but the golf cart driver grabbed it and threw it into the bushes, deputies say.

The golf cart driver is described as a white male in his 50s, who is bald or balding.

In a post on social media, the sheriff’s office shared a surveillance photo showing a parked SUV and a golf cart.
