🐲‘We have dragons!’ A look inside ‘How to Train Your Dragon’ world at Epic Universe

ORLANDO, Fla. – “While some places have ponies and parrots... Here, we have dragons!”

You may remember the saying from the opening narration of the original ‘How to Train Your Dragon’ movie. At Universal Epic Universe, the Isle of Berk is brought to life with dragons and Vikings.

“When you’re doing something this grand, and it’s a beloved IP, you really need to make sure that you’re respecting it and delivering to guests exactly what they’ve seen in the films because that’s what they’re here to see,” said Senior Director and Executive Producer of Universal Creative Katy Pachitti. “Everywhere you look, there’s a dragon, and we ran the gambit from a very simple, static dragon to more complicated, life-like or the more ‘wow, I must see’ dragon like Toothless you can visit during our Character Meet Up.”

While How To Train Your Dragon - Isle of Berk, you may run into one of the Vikings, Gobber. He’s a blacksmith, and the elder of the Berk tribe know for his knowledge of dragons and weaponry. He’ll talk about the Tale of the Monstrous Nightmare and how he lost a hand during the ‘Lokey Pokey.’

The Isle of Berk spans 15.5 acres with more than 162,000 square feet of rock work for dragon size adventure.

Epic Universe features five vivid worlds:
