Lightning strike sparks house fire in Seminole County, officials say

Fire reported on Northumbria Drive in Sanford

SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. – A home in Seminole County was damaged after a lightning strike sparked a fire, according to officials.

The Seminole County Fire Department said the fire was reported on Northumbria Drive in Sanford round 7:30 p.m.

According to fire officials, no injuries were reported in the fully involved fire.

Crews from Longwood, Oviedo and Sanford fire departments assisted with the blaze.

The fire comes a day after lightning caused another house fire in Waterford Lakes in Orlando.

A GoFundMe has been established to help assist the family.
