TAVARES, Fla. – Officials in Lake County are holding a series of public listening sessions focused on managing growth and development.
The first of four workshops will be held on Monday at the Board of County Commissioners Chambers, where there will be a discussion about Lake becoming a charter county.
Commission Chairman Leslie Campione said the workshops are designed to build collaboration and find solutions for responsible growth.
“Our goal is really to focus on growth management and protecting Lake County’s character, while still having a vibrant and thriving economy,” Campione said.

Residents and business owners are invited to attend the workshops to help shape growth and management strategies.
“A lot of our municipalities are growing pretty quickly, and they’re growing into areas where we need road improvements,” Campione said. “We’re trying to find a way to actually merge those cities’ visions and what’s happening in those cities, with infrastructure needs.”
