3 Palm Coast teens arrested in armed robbery saga, sheriff’s office says

FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. – A Palm Coast teen who was allegedly robbed at gunpoint by two other teens in May was arrested by Flagler County deputies on Tuesday, according to the sheriff’s office.

Deputies received a phone call on May 29 from a woman who said that her teenage child was robbed in the parking lot of European Village in Palm Coast, the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office said in a series of statements.

The teen is accused of taking their parents’ handgun with them to hang out with the other two, during which 16-year-old Chimale Santiago-Thomas allegedly pointed a handgun at the victim’s head and demanded they surrender their belongings, including the firearm, the sheriff’s office said.

After the robbery, the victim walked home and told their mother, deputies said.

Santiago-Thomas, who’s accused of robbery with a firearm along with grand theft of a firearm, possession of a firearm by a minor and violating his parole, was arrested later that afternoon by Flagler County deputies.

The other teen was also arrested by deputies, accused of accessory after the fact, grand theft of a firearm and possession of a firearm by a minor, the sheriff’s office said.

Following an investigation, the victim was later arrested on Tuesday by Flagler County deputies, accused of grand theft of a firearm and possession of a firearm by a minor.

All three teens were booked into the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility before being turned over to the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice in Daytona Beach, according to the sheriff’s office.
