Florida man arrested for online threats on LGBTQ event post, FBI says

Threats were posted on Facebook, officials said

MARION COUNTY, Fla. – A Marion County man was arrested after leaving a threatening comment on a Facebook post promoting an LGBTQ event in Orlando, the FBI said in a report.

The accused, 35-year-old Michael Wilcox, posted a comment that threatened harm to others, officials said, on a Facebook page owned by Goblin Market, an Orlando art market.

The post was sharing details on its upcoming Goblin Market Pride Event on June 14.

Wilcox posted an image that showed a person loading a revolver.

The FBI said they coordinated with the Orlando Police Department to identify Wilcox, investigating online websites, including Instagram.

Wilcox is currently being held at the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, charged with knowingly transmitting a true threat to injure someone online.
