Deivis Sanchez is the artist behind the project. He said there’s a lot of work that goes into a mural.

“Since I want bright, eye-catching colors, the first thing I do is protect all the areas that won’t be part of the mural using plastic sheeting. Then, I create the background using a high-coverage paint sprayer, which allows me to achieve smooth gradients,” said Sanchez.
He said that after that, he uses a reference technique by placing guide symbols on the wall. He photographs them from a fixed angle and digitally overlays the design onto the photo to ensure correct proportions. This makes it so he doesn’t need a projector.
“Once the drawing is ready, I clean up the interior areas and begin applying different layers of color using the paint sprayer. Depending on the complexity of each wall, the process can take anywhere from one to three weeks,” Sanchez explained.
Each of the five walls represents a specific theme in the community’s journey: The beginning, growth and identity, connection and unity, celebration, and the future.
“The mural celebrates creativity and togetherness. By transforming the space with color and joyful imagery. It invites everyone to experience art as a source of joy and connection within the community,” said Sanchez.
“But sometimes, art doesn’t carry a defined message, it just exists, and its very presence can evoke emotions and thoughts in unique ways for each person.”
The five-wall mural installation at the Orange Gardens Community Center is part of the ARTisNOW Public Murals Project with Osceola Arts.
The program has a mission of bringing artists and the community together through revitalizing spaces, inspiring conversation, and celebrating local culture.
