DELTONA, Fla. – Law enforcement search teams on Monday are combing a property in Deltona in relation to a criminal investigation out of Mount Dora, but police would not elaborate further.
News 6 received a tip about the search on Monday off a private driveway in the area of DeBary Avenue, near Clark Street and Enterprise Road.
News 6 Volusia County Community Correspondent Molly Reed reported that the area being searched is a retention pond tucked back behind some woods.
Volusia County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Unit vehicles were seen on the property.

Reed says there was a large sheriff’s office presence at the scene, pumping water out of the pond.
A nearby resident told News 6 he’s seen investigators back there several times in the last month. The team out on Monday was the biggest he’s seen.
When we called the sheriff’s office for more information, we were told to contact the Mount Dora Police Department or the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
A Mount Dora police spokesperson told Lake County Community Correspondent Emily McLeod that the search in Deltona was part of an “ongoing criminal investigation the details of which are not being released to the public to protect the integrity of the investigation.”
