FAA investigates hard landing at DeLand Airport

Crews respond to 955 Singleton Drive

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. – Federal investigators are working to figure out what caused a small plane to make a hard landing at the airport in DeLand on Thursday.

The fire department shared pictures to social media showing the damage from earlier that morning, stating a paramedic and skydiver who witnessed the crash helped the pilot get out before first responders arrived.

The pilot was taken to a hospital, the post states, adding no other injuries were reported.

The Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board were called to investigate.
