Lake County Schools to hold hiring event as it looks to add 100 teachers, other positions

LAKE COUNTY, Fla. – Lake County Schools announced it is holding a hiring event on Tuesday as they look to hire teachers and other professionals for the upcoming school year.

The 18th largest district in the state said it aims to hire up to 100 instructors – including elementary, special education, English language arts, science, and math – in addition to certified school counselors, school bus drivers, custodial and maintenance workers, and classroom support staff.

According to the school district, more than 400 participants have already signed up for the annual Lake County Schools District-Wide Hiring Day.

The event will be held at Mount Dora High School located at 700 N. Highland Street from for 9-11 a.m.

“Participants are advised to bring a resume and dress professionally. One-on-one interviews will be held, and some participants may be offered a job on the spot,” officials said in a news release.

Lake County Schools officials said the A-rated district offers a full list of benefits, including supplemental pay for advanced degrees and Title I schools, paid time off, primary health care services and some generic medications at no cost to covered employees, and life insurance for full-time employees at no cost.

For those interested in becoming a school bus driver, all new drivers who need to complete the state licensing requirements are offered a paid CDL training program as an incentive for joining the district.

Job-seekers have been urged to register in advance, on-site registration for this free event will be available as well.
