KISSIMMEE, Fla. – A Kissimmee man was arrested for possession of child sexual abuse material, the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office said.
Detectives with the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) unit identified Melvin Echevarria-Alvarez, 22, as a suspect in possession of child sexual abuse material on Tuesday, a news release states.

An arrest warrant was obtained, and on Friday, officers located and arrested Echevarria-Alvarez. He was booked into the Osceola County Jail.
Following his arrest, detectives interviewed Echevarria-Alvarez at the jail. Based on evidence and the interview, a search warrant was served at his residence in the Vineland Landings Apartments in Kissimmee.
Echevarria-Alvarez faces 96 counts of possession of photo or video sexual performance by a child, two counts of possession of computer-generated child sexual abuse material, and two counts of possession of animal bestiality material.
Echevarria-Alvarez was booked with a zero bond on the first count and $5,000 bonds on each of the remaining counts, totaling $495,000.
The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate.
