MARION COUNTY, Fla. – A person was shot and killed Wednesday morning near Summerfield, according to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded around 7:15 a.m. to a shooting in the 17800 block of SE 21st Court, where they located a male suffering from a gunshot wound, the sheriff’s office said on social media.
Marion County Fire Rescue pronounced the victim dead at the scene, the post states, adding detectives with the sheriff’s office’s Major Crimes Unit had since responded to investigate.
