LAKE MARY, Fla. – Lake Mary celebrated its Little League softball and baseball teams Saturday morning, recognizing both teams for their incredible seasons.

The Lake Mary Little League softball team represented the Southeast region at the Little League Softball World Series, marking a historic milestone for the program.

The baseball team advanced to the regional tournament, showcasing the hard work and strength of Lake Mary’s Little League baseball program.

Despite not punching their ticket to the Little League World Series this year, Lake Mary’s Little League Baseball team still felt the support.

“The support that we’re having through what we’ve been through. Even though we lost the championship we still have all of that support for us,” said baseball team shortstop Jaxson Roicki.

Brent Fieser, assistant coach for the girls’ softball team, said the encouragement from friends, family and the community fueled them this summer.

“That’s what it’s all about, right, is the community,” Fieser said. “That’s what the girls are playing for — their families, themselves — but it’s everyone that is here supporting them.”

Jonathan Anderson, manager of the 12U team, praised the dedication of players’ families throughout the season.

“They brought these children to the field at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., noon to put practices in to achieve their child’s goal,” Anderson said. “When you buy in, when you see the success, you do whatever it takes. And these parents and these kids did it. And the accomplishments and everything shows from the hard work.”
