OVIEDO, Fla. – A “high-pressure event” at Oviedo’s West Mitchell Hammock Water Treatment Facility on Tuesday sprang several small leaks across the city, according to a statement.

The event occurred around 5:15 p.m. and has so far caused several small service leaks at individual residences, the city said on social media.

A water main break occurred on East High Street, impacting around 25 homes, the post states. As the main is repaired, those homes will be under a boil water advisory until further notice, the city said.

Oviedo Water Utility Staff continues to survey the system for further leaks and evaluate the West Mitchell Hammock Water Treatment Facility which is currently operating under normal conditions.
