Powerball jackpot soars to $850 million! Here’s your next chance to win

Odds of winning jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Powerball jackpot has soared to an estimated $850 million for the next drawing on Wednesday night, making it the sixth-largest prize in the game’s history.

The Powerball jackpot rolled over Monday night after no ticket matched all six numbers drawn – white balls 16, 19, 34, 37, 64 and red Powerball 22. The Power Play multiplier was 3.

Two tickets in Georgia and Texas did win $1 million prizes after matching all five white balls. There were also 26 tickets that won $50,000 prizes and five tickets that won $150,000 prizes.

News 6 spoke with hopeful players as they bought tickets in Central Florida, sharing their plans if they win.

“Dreams do come true. If you don’t play, then how can it come true?” Daniel Lightfoot said.

Lightfoot acknowledged the odds are daunting — about one in 292.2 million — but he remains optimistic.

“Like I said, dreams do come true, and I play because I have dreams. So, we’ll see what happens,” he said.

Others shared what winning would mean to them.

Targile Grant called it “life-changing.”

“It would allow me to retire early and definitely do more traveling. Haven’t traveled as much as I would like,” he said. “I have a 11 year old and have school tuition to pay for the future, just being able to live a life and kind of put work in the background and play family in the foreground, spending more time and less time at work.”

Eric Kinsey also called it a life-changing amount of money.

“Not only change my life, but changes the lives of others,” he said.

Wednesday’s Powerball drawing will be the 38th drawing since the jackpot was last won in California on May 31, 2025. If a player wins Wednesday’s jackpot, they will have the choice between an annuitized prize estimated at $815 million or a lump sum payment estimated at $367.9 million. Both prize options are before taxes. If the winner selects the annuity option, they will receive one immediate payment followed by 29 annual payments that increase by 5% each year.

If you have not bought your ticket yet, you have until 10 p.m. to do so for tonight’s drawing. Powerball drawings are broadcast live on News 6 every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. ET from the Florida Lottery draw studio in Tallahassee.
