No ruling in revenge porn claims case involving Rep. Cory Mills

Reigning Miss United States seeks restraining order

COLUMBIA COUNTY, Fla. – No ruling was made by a judge on whether to issue a restraining order against Central Florida Congressman Cory Mills, who faces accusations of threats from a former girlfriend.

During a Friday hearing, a judge instructed the parties to send in paperwork by Oct. 2.

Lindsey Langston, reigning Miss United States and a Columbia County Republican state committeewoman, is seeking a restraining order against Mills, a Republican who represents Volusia and Seminole counties in the U.S. House.

“What you’re seeing here is break-ups are difficult,” Mills told News 6 following a two-hour court hearing Friday. “The idea that if she’s at risk or there’s a threat that’s being made, you would go to the cops.”

Langston did report Mills’ alleged cyberstalking to the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office on July 14, court records show.

The documents show the couple began dating in 2021 and lived together in Mills’ New Smyrna Beach home. Langston said she left Mills after news surfaced that another woman living in Mills’ Washington, D.C., home accused him of assault. That woman later withdrew her accusation.

Since their breakup, Langston claims Mills has threatened to release nude images and videos of her, including recordings of them engaging in sexual acts.

“I panicked. I immediately knew what videos he was referencing,” Langston said earlier this month. “And I was beginning to panic because that could ruin my reputation. You know, I felt comfortable. This was somebody that I was in a relationship with for going on three years - three, four years at this point. There were talks of us getting married, I thought I was going to spend the rest of my life with this person. I never anticipated them using that against me.”

During questioning by Mills’s attorney in court on Friday, Langston testified that she had repeatedly asked the congressman to stop contacting her.

“Has Mr. Mills ever physically harmed you?” attorney John Terhune asked.

“Not yet,” replied Langston. “He has made a statement to me about being physically aggressive with someone, pushing them in a stairwell.”

Mills denies any wrongdoing, saying his messages were misconstrued.
