Fire breaks out at Kissimmee home

Firefighters respond to Mallard Creek subdivision

KISSIMMEE, Fla. – A fire broke out Wednesday afternoon at a Kissimmee home.

The fire was reported around 2:04 p.m. in the Mallard Creek subdivision.

Firefighters arrived to see flames had spread from the garage to a nearby vehicle and to the second floor of the home.

The fire was extinguished, and the residents had evacuated. No injuries were reported.

“Our crews acted quickly to contain the fire and prevent further damage to items in the home and surrounding area,” Battalion Chief Ryan Appleman of the Kissimmee Fire Department said in a statement. “We appreciate the support from our partner agencies and are thankful everyone made it out safely.”

An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the fire.
