TAVARES, Fla. – A death investigation is underway Thursday in Tavares after skeletal remains were found near a bike trail, according to police.
The remains were found in a wooded area adjacent to a bike path near the Holiday Inn Express & Suites on U.S. Highway 441, the Tavares Police Department said on social media.
Investigators were still working with the Medical Examiner’s Office at the time of this report to determine the identity of the individual and to establish a cause of death, the post states.
No further information was immediately available.
