Now, the advisory is in effect for the Western Shores System, which impacts nearly 500 customers.

“Service was interrupted this evening to begin repairs,” the release reads. “There is currently no estimated time for service restoration.”

While the advisory is in effect, FGUA officials urge customers to bring any water used for cooking or drinking to a “rolling boil” for one minute to remove any potential viruses.

In addition, bottled water can be used as a replacement.

“The advisory will be lifted once repairs are complete, and water samples taken to an independent, Florida Department of Health-certified laboratory indicates that the water is safe to drink, typically in two to three days,” the release continues.

Customers with questions about the outage and advisory are asked to call FGUA Pasco Customer Service Officer at (877) 657-8889.
