Powerball jackpot swells to $1.1B

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The estimated Powerball jackpot is now $1.1 billion after no big winner Saturday night.

Saturday’s numbers were 1, 28, 31, 57 and 58 with Powerball 16 and Power Play 2x.

A player in Florida was one of five across the U.S. to match five numbers for a $1 million prize, with a ticket bought from Publix #1160 at 525 S Belcher Road, Clearwater. The other four winners were in California, Michigan, New Jersey and Virginia, according to Powerball’s website, and slightly richer are the two winners in North Carolina and Pennsylvania who matched five with Power Play for $2 million prizes.

The $1.1 billion jackpot represents a cash value of $503.4 million, according to Powerball.

The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 292,201,338.

Powerball® tickets are $2 per play. Tickets are sold in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. More than half of all proceeds from the sale of a Powerball ticket remain in the jurisdiction where the ticket was sold. Since its first drawing in 1992, the Powerball game has helped generate more than $36 billion for good causes supported by U.S. lotteries.
