‘I used to be out here:’ Volunteers spend Christmas feeding and clothing Orlando’s homeless

Grateful gathering at Lake Eola

ORLANDO, Fla. – Volunteers at Lake Eola spent their Christmas morning handing out food, clothes, toiletries and more to people experiencing homelessness.

“You gotta give back, OK? So I volunteer to help them, because I used to be out here,” one man said. “I finally got myself together — about a year, year and a half — found a job, found a place to stay. Everything’s wonderful now."

News 6 was there as the holiday helpers set up tables and served a group of grateful attendees.

“We’re just thankful to be here, for the clothes and all that,” one of them told us.
