17-year-old killed in Orange County shooting, deputies say

Shooting reported in 1500 block of 26th Street

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – A 17-year-old boy was shot in killed in Orange County on Sunday evening, according to a news release.

Deputies said they responded to the 1500 block of 26th Street in reference to a shooting around 9 p.m.

According to the release, the teen was taken to the hospital where he died.

Deputies said the investigation is still in its early stages. No other information was released.

Sunday’s incident marks at least the third fatal shooting of a teen in the last five days in Orange County.

On Christmas Eve, A 17-year-old was shot to death near a condominium complex in the 5500 block of PGA Boulevard.

And on Christmas Day, a 13-year-old girl was fatally shot in the 2200 block of Okada Court.
