‘You’re going to get tackled:’ Video shows Port Orange police takedown of shoplifting suspect

PORT ORANGE, Fla. – Body camera video released Tuesday shows a Port Orange officer running after a man suspected of stealing from a Kohl’s and pushing him off his bicycle.

The police department said on Dec. 30, officers received multiple reports of shoplifting from retailers. When an officer arrived, he saw Clarence Collmar, 50, of New Smyrna Beach, riding away on a bicycle.

Video shows the officer yelling for Collmar to stop multiple times.

“Stop or you’re going to get tackled,” the officer is heard saying before he tackles Collmar off the bike.

“Oh, my God, I didn’t do nothing. I didn’t do anything,” Collmar says.

Body camera video later shows an officer pulling stolen items out of Collmar’s backpack, including jewelry and wallets, police said.

Collmar was arrested and faces charges of felony theft due to prior convictions, resisting an officer, possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia. He is being held on $4,500 bond.
