FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. – A man who was extradited from North Carolina to Florida in a Flagler County sex-crimes case has been sentenced to a decade in prison, according to the sheriff.

Kermit Booth, 72, was extradited to Florida after being arrested in August by deputies in North Carolina.

Booth on Wednesday pleaded guilty to a charge of attempted sexual battery. The sheriff’s office initially said he pleaded no contest. A judge sentenced him to 10 years in prison, to be followed by 20 years of sex-offender probation.

Booth will also be required to register as a sexual predator, according to the ruling.

A circuit court action form dated Wednesday note there is “no objection to defendant transferring to North Carolina.”
