VIDEO: Man throws gun, drugs from pockets during Marion County pursuit, deputies say

Terry Fischer faces multiple charges

MARION COUNTY, Fla. – A man was arrested Wednesday after fleeing from Marion County deputies and leading them on a pursuit, according to the sheriff’s office.

According to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, one of their deputies tried to stop Terry Fischer, who was riding a black motorcycle and weaving around construction cones in an active construction zone.

Video shows the deputy, who is also on a motorcycle, pull up next to Fischer and tell him to pull over before Fischer speeds off.

During the pursuit, sheriff’s officials said the deputy saw Fischer reach into his jacket for what appeared to be a firearm. Fischer then threw the gun, along with drugs determined to be methamphetamine and cocaine, deputies said.

Video shows Fischer drive his motorcycle onto a grass shoulder and try to run off, but he was taken into custody.

Fischer is being held on no bond.
