Sparks fly as Oviedo firefighters put out burning car

Station 46 firefighters commended for great job

OVIEDO, Fla. – New video from the Oviedo Fire Department shows firefighters putting out a burning SUV in a parking lot on Wednesday.

Crews responded that morning to Mitchell Hammock and Broadway, reporting a fully-engulfed vehicle upon their arrival, the fire department said on social media.

“Firefighters from Station 46 did a great job quickly containing the fire,” a spokesperson later said in a statement.

Firefighters managed to put the flames out quickly, the post states. Footage from the response shows sparks flying at times as firefighters blast the burning car with water.

No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire was unknown at the time of this writing, according to the post.
