Custody dispute prompts false missing-child alert out of Lake County, sheriff’s office says 11-year-old child wasn’t really missing

LAKE COUNTY, Fla. – Lake County sheriff’s officials who said Thursday that they were searching for an 11-year-old boy removed the alert within a couple hours and explained why.
In a since-deleted social media post, the Lake County Sheriff’s Office said it was looking for a gray SUV that the boy had last been seen boarding.
The matter was actually that of a custody dispute, the sheriff’s office said, adding the child was never really missing.
