Sanford police seek ‘Peeping Tom’ accused of peering into home with blanket

Incident occurred near Laurel Avenue and 12th Street

SANFORD, Fla. – Sanford police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a person caught on security footage acting suspiciously near a private residence.

On Dec. 23, around 12:30 a.m., police said the individual was recorded on a security camera attempting to look into a home near the intersection of Laurel Avenue and 12th Street.

“Security footage shows the person looking into the home’s front windows and unlawfully entering the fenced-in backyard. The person used a green blanket with a duck logo to attempt to conceal their identity,” police said in a social media post.

The reporting resident said similar incidents have happened multiple times over the past month, and it appears to be the same individual each time, police said.

“Based on the information provided, this is being investigated as a possible case of Peeping Tom,” the post states.

Police ask anyone who has experienced a similar incident or has surveillance footage that could be linked to this person to contact the Sanford Police Department.
