SANFORD, Fla. – Sanford police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a person caught on security footage acting suspiciously near a private residence.
A police report obtained by News 6 on Thursday states the homeowner believes the same man has been visiting her house on multiple nights.
On Dec. 23, she called police after the man was seen on surveillance camera entering her backyard and looking into her bedroom window.
“Security footage shows the person looking into the home’s front windows and unlawfully entering the fenced-in backyard. The person used a green blanket with a duck logo to attempt to conceal their identity,” police said in a social media post.
“It’s happened a lot,” the woman told News 6. “I think I’ve itemized 40 incidents of him jumping the fence, looking at my bedroom window, climbing on my front porch to look in my living room window.”
The woman, who didn’t want to show her face on camera to protect her privacy, said it started in October. She invested money into upgrading her cameras and increasing security around her home.
She shared multiple videos with News 6 that show a man in her fenced-in backyard or on her porch.
“I have one video of him pulling out a digital camera and turning it on,” she said.
She added that she doesn’t feel safe, and neither does her daughter.
“It’s terrifying,” she said. “I mean, the amount of paranoia that I have.”
Police ask anyone who has experienced a similar incident or has surveillance footage that could be linked to this person to contact the Sanford Police Department.
