LADY LAKE, Fla. – Several teens who were arrested this week in Lady Lake are accused in separate cases involving store burglaries and attempted vehicle break-ins, according to police.
An officer at The Quarters apartment complex on Tuesday reportedly saw, identified and detained two juveniles that he allegedly recognized from recent burglaries at Lady Lake Discount Beverage along U.S. Highway 441 and a nearby vape shop, the Lady Lake Police Department said in a news release.

The suspects had smashed the front door to steal alcohol and vape products in the first burglary before going on to force entry into the vape shop, where lighters and further vape merchandise was stolen, police said.
“Detectives later interviewed the suspects and confirmed their involvement in both burglaries,” the news release states.
Later that day, an officer from a neighboring jurisdiction allegedly saw several juveniles attempting to open car doors in The Quarters’ parking lot.
“Officers watched as the group tried door handles on a Kia sedan and attempted to pry a rear window with what appeared to be a screwdriver,” the release continues.
Three of those juveniles were located nearby and taken into custody on charges of loitering and prowling, police said.
An investigation is ongoing and the juveniles’ names would not be released, the release states.
