KISSIMMEE, Fla. – A security guard at the Kissimmee Youth Academy was arrested after a “physical altercation” with a 15-year-old juvenile housed at the facility, the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.
Deputies responded to the incident on Jan. 21. The juvenile was taken to the hospital and received stitches for a head wound, deputies said.
After interviewing witnesses and those involved, detectives on Monday arrested Charles-Edouard Jeune, 32. He faces felony charges of child abuse, aggravated child abuse, and battery on a prisoner causing great bodily harm.
Jeune turned himself in at the sheriff’s office and was taken into custody without incident.
The Kissimmee Youth Academy is a medium-security level program under the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice.
