Seminole County’s SCOUT rideshare service updates cancellation policy

App now limits cancellation requests to 2 per day

SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. – The SCOUT rideshare service updated its app to “improve reliability” for riders in Seminole County.

The service will now limit two SCOUT cancellation requests per day in the app. After two rides have been canceled, riders will need to call 407-665-RIDE (7433) to make additional requests.

SCOUT said this:

“This change helps ensure vehicles remain available for riders who are ready to travel and reduces delays caused by repeated cancellations,” a release reads.

Riders can see real-time updates and wait times through the app at pick-up locations.

Our News 6 team took a test ride in November after we heard about long wait times. A trip booked at 1:58 p.m. led to an hour and 36-minute wait before pickup. By the time SCOUT picked up additional passengers on the way, the total journey stretched to nearly two hours.

SCOUT’s pricing structure positions it as an affordable alternative to both traditional ride-hailing services and bus transportation:

  • Scout ride to SunRail: $1.50
  • Standard Scout ride: $9.50
  • Comparable Uber ride: $30+ (before tip)

The service continues to operate throughout Seminole County, with officials working to balance affordability with service reliability.
