LEESBURG, Fla. – U.S. Marshals have one of two persons of interest in custody in connection with the December fatal shooting of an 18-year-old at a Leesburg park.
James Fenderson IV is currently being interviewed by investigators regarding the killing of Juan Gomez Jr. at Berry Park, police said. Gomez was found shot inside his vehicle at the park and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police continue to seek a second person of interest, D’Yunte Wright, for questioning in the case.
The Leesburg Police Department previously identified both Wright and Fenderson as individuals who might have information crucial to the homicide investigation.
Gomez, known to his family as “Junie,” was described in a family statement as being “taken from us way too soon and way too young” under tragic circumstances.
