4 displaced after portion of roof collapses during Marion County house fire

Firefighters respond to 13000 block of Southwest 66th Street in Ocala

MARION COUNTY, Fla. – Four residents were displaced Tuesday after a large house fire broke out in Marion County, according to fire officials.

Firefighters responded around 9:20 p.m. to the 13000 block of Southwest 66th Street, where they found the home in flames.

Multiple units from nearby stations provided assistance.

“During the aggressive interior attack, fire conditions in the attic resulted in a partial roof collapse. Firefighters immediately evacuated the structure and transitioned to a defensive operation,” fire rescue said.

The fire was under control around 9:59 p.m., officials said.

An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause and origin of the fire.

No one was injured.

The American Red Cross responded to help the four people displaced.
