NEWARK – A JetBlue flight headed from New Jersey to Florida made an emergency landing in Newark after the plane sustained apparent engine failure.
JetBlue flight 543 took off shortly after 5:30 p.m. Wednesday from Newark Liberty International Airport, heading to West Palm Beach.
The plane returned to Newark shortly after takeoff when smoke filled the cabin.

Passengers used emergency slides to get off the plane. No injuries were reported.
A ground stop was issued at the airport, but it was later lifted.
JetBlue issued a statement about the incident, saying safety is its top priority.
The FAA is investigating.
