With academic degrees in criminal justice and educational leadership from Saint Leo University and an education-specialist degree from National Louis University, as well as an education doctorate from the latter, she’s the second appointed and fourth-ever woman superintendent in the district’s 157-year history, the release states.
She began her career with Marion County Public Schools on Aug. 1, 2005, and has served in that time as an assistant principal and principal — most recently at North Marion High School — as well as having been named director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Digital Learning, and senior executive director of High Schools and Secondary Curriculum, according to the district.
